Dolly Samuel lost both her parents by age 12, and an identical twin at age 16. Supported by her older siblings, Dolly overcame adversity, and together with her husband C. Samuel went on to live a life of compassion, leadership, influence, and impact for which she remained grateful.

Dolly Samuel was the mother of Tiyara’s founder CEO Tilly Samuel Sojwal.

Mahima Baberiya, a senior-year Nursing student, is the proud recipient of Tiyara’s 2023 Dolly Samuel Award. The group of colleges she attends was founded by a woman named Shrimati Dharya Prabhadevi Sojatia, whose mission was to empower women through education. Once Mahima graduates in early 2024, she plans to seek employment in a government hospital, and simultaneously pursue a master's degree in nursing.

Mahima is the oldest of 4 siblings, who lost their mother to COVID-19.

I can very well relate my life with
Madam Dolly Samuel who was alone after the death of her parents by the age of 12... In college, my one drawback was the absence of both parents, while my friends had the support of their parents. I will definitely carry on Dolly Samuel’s legacy of an impactful life.
